SolBe Families,

As much as I love encouraging massively involved/messy projects (ie the “glitter-bomb” binoculars from last week)…the greatest joy as of late is as simple as getting outside. Anything involving sunshine and an easy mission will do the trick! The project today only takes a few minutes, yet we spent the better part of two hours out strolling and collecting our materials. Thank you to @LittleOnesLearn for the glorious inspiration!

Book to Pair with Project

Easy to pair for this project! Dandelion by Don Freeman is a classic—the same author who wrote one of our all-time favorites, Corduroy.

Project of the Day: Pretend Flower Stew

Materials

  • Paper
  • Marker
  • Active Imagination

Step One

Collect your materials and lay all of your goods out!

Step Two

I drew a round lion-ish face on white paper. We only had a purple crayon laying around! So, Purple Lion, it is! Older kiddos can enjoy drawing their own lion!

Step Three

Sloaney and I had the best time popping all of the dandelion heads off and arranging them around the Lions face to form his mane. Initially, he was not looking very Lioney…but by the end, we were both very proud of the development! Let’s see what you can create!

Most important direction, as always: HAVE FUN!

More resources to follow in the coming days. Feedback and more ideas welcome!

Above all, be well and stay healthy!
